Love Actually in Concert New Orleans Concert reviews
One of the worst plays I have ever seen!
I was excited when Love Jones: the Musical was announced for Brooklyn. I spent around $400 for four tickets (including fees) to see it with friends. However, it was not worth the high cost. I have attended plays for $20 that were much better than this one.
Here are some of the issues I encountered with the play:
Doors were supposed to open at 2 pm but didn't until 3 pm. There was a long line, and we missed the beginning of the show due to the delay. It was evident that the show's producers had not coordinated well with the theater for a smooth start.
The writing was poor, with the modern adaptation of a classic film falling short. The writer's failure to maintain the originality of the movie was disappointing. The play was filled with silly stereotypes and pointless dialogue that ruined the essence of the film.
The acting was subpar, especially from Chrisette Michelle. It was clear that she should stick to singing and leave acting to the professionals. The other actors were equally unimpressive.
After struggling through the first act, my friends and I decided to leave during intermission. I wish I could get a refund for the tickets. I would never recommend this play to anyone.
